The kingdom that Jesus came to establish on Earth is radical, counter-cultural, and rebellious. We value people based on their wealth, but Jesus said it is blessed to be poor in spirit. We call people strong based on their ability to exert control over others, but Jesus says the meek will inherit the earth. Western Christians may call themselves blessed if they have their dream home and a nice car, but Jesus calls us blessed when we are persecuted and outcast. The way of Jesus has to disrupt our way of life if we are to truly call Jesus “Lord”. Join the rebellion and truly follow Jesus.
