Our increasingly divided society has seen many turn to politics as their identity, straining relationships and communities. For followers of Jesus, politics matter because policies affect the people we’re called to love and serve. However, how we engage politically should prioritize hope and humility, reflecting the values of heaven. As citizens of heaven, we are not merely waiting for eternity but preparing for the return of Christ, who will restore the world and reign with us. This future should motivate us to work for God’s kingdom now, knowing our labor is not in vain. Over the coming weeks, we’ll explore how Jesus approached the politics of His time through the Gospel of Mark, calling us to a higher life rooted in His story and His transformative way of living.
