15 Sermon Series Ideas on Fear

sermon series ideas on fear

Why would your church do a sermon series on the topic of fear? There are tons of reasons!

For one, the phrase “fear not” is scattered throughout the Bible. Apparently, us humans have the propensity toward being afraid. So fear is an important topic – specifically, how we deal with it and look to God as our source of peace. Plus, a “fear” sermon series would be perfect in October, around Halloween time. Since Halloween has become a huge holiday for fright and chills, you could piggyback off the theme of the month but bring the truth of the Bible to the topic.

But this sort of sermon series doesn’t have to be limited to just the month of October. There are tons of times throughout the year that people deal with fears. People are afraid of being alone around the holidays. They’re afraid of the economy. The state of the world. Terrorism. Their personal finances. Fear is a huge part of many of our lives, and we need to learn how to deal with it the way God tells us to deal with it.

His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
