Genesis is a book of beginnings. It is the beginning of God’s Word, and it recounts the beginning of God’s world and everyone who dwells therein. It explains the beginning of all that has gone wrong, as well as the Lord’s promise to send a Son who will make creation new again. In other words, Genesis is the beginning of the true story of the whole world as told by the One who is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.
