Description: In the period of the judges, men and women “did what was evil in the sight of the Lord” that would lead to oppression. So the Lord raised up judges or deliverers to come to the rescue of His people after they would turn back to Him. For hundreds of years the Israelites would fall into cycles of sin and repentance with hope that rescue would come.
Several millennia later, we still follow these same sin and repentance cycles hoping that “rescue is coming.” This is a 4-part series where we’ll study four different “rescuers” from the book of Judges and see how there is a Judge who is greater still and can rescue us today.
